InfoGUJI GUJI - VOL 02 TO 056DOC 234—34/2
DATE: 2022-24
TYPE: Festival Branding, Poster Design, Merch Design, Motion Graphics
Guji Guji is a DIY music festival in Gangtok, Sikkim, dedicated to promoting hardcore punk, metal, and underground music. With a raw, rebellious spirit, the festival provides a platform for independent artists from the Northeast, drawing a dedicated following and becoming a key cultural event in the region. The festival reflects a strong DIY ethos, combining music, creativity, and grassroots community engagement, making it a prominent celebration of alternative music culture.
For the festival, I was initially tasked with creating a poster and merchandise designs. However, I expanded my role to develop a cohesive branding system that aligned with the festival's growing reach and unique DIY vibe.
Key deliverables included:
- Poster System:
- Designed a comprehensive poster system consisting of a main poster and four mini posters:
- One mini poster featured the artwork and title.
- Another outlined the line-up of bands.
- The third displayed venue and dates.
- The fourth incorporated QR codes for ticket bookings and various audiovisual content.
- Motion Posters:
- Developed dynamic motion posters for the festival’s social media campaign, helping boost online engagement.
- Merchandise & Stickers:
- Designed merchandise graphics for T-shirts and created stickers in line with the festival's punk and metal aesthetic.
- Single-Page Website:
- Created a single-page website for the festival, incorporating multimedia content, ticketing information, and event updates, further enhancing its digital presence.
The branding aimed to capture the essence of the festival's underground music scene while ensuring a strong and consistent visual identity across print and digital platforms.
